Strawberry Peach Crisp


Cobblers, Crisps… anything with fruit and a good topping makes me excited about dessert in the summer. This is one of our favorites. I use any fruit I happen to grab at the farmer’s market or store. Today it just so happened to be strawberry and peaches. YUM. Can’t go wrong with these two. Another combination I absolutely love is blackberry and peaches or blueberry and peaches. This is a dessert I like to cook and serve in mason jars, especially when we have friends over- that way everyone can have their own! NO SHARING REQUIRED ;). You can top these off with homemade whip cream or even vanilla ice cream. Ice cream on top of a warm crisp is AAAmazing! I cook the jars inside of a pan to help them remain stable inside the oven. In this picture I used 5 ounce jars and 8 ounce jars. This recipe makes around 6 jars ( 4-5oz jars and 2- 8 oz jars). Feel free to use any size!

Strawberry Peach Crisp Ingredients:

Peaches- 4-6, peeled (depending on size, can never go wrong with too many)

Strawberries- 1 basket full ( one container at store)

Sugar- 1 cup

Corn Starch- 1/4 cup

Oats- 3/4 cup

Flour- 3/4 cup

Brown Sugar- 1 cup

Cinnamon- 1 teaspoon

Butter- 2 tablespoons, melted can add more if needed to topping


Preheat oven to 350.

Cut strawberries and peaches into chunks, place in bowl. Pour sugar and corn starch on top- toss together until coated well. Set aside.


Combine all the other ingredients except butter in separate bowl.

Small Jars- Place fruit mixture into jars fill about 3/4 the way full. Add topping. Pour melted butter on top. Add to dry topping. You want the topping to look wet once the melted butter is added.

Large Jars- Place fruit mixture into jars, fill only half way. Add dry topping mixture and melted butter, then add more fruit mixture and then top it off with dry topping and melted butter to finish, you want the topping to look wet once the melted butter is added.

Bake jars in pan on 350 for 10-12 minutes. You want to see the crisp “bubbling”. If not seeing this, cook longer until bubbling, and topping is slightly brown.

Top with vanilla ice cream or whip cream and serve!

*Side Note-The topping should look slight brown. If it still looks like the topping is more flour than hardening add more melted butter to the top and spread. This should help.

*I find myself with leftover topping mixture at times, I put it in a air tight container and save it for my next round of crisps!
