Eat Pretty

We just got home from a family vacation. I was able to get some reading in (thanks mom and dad for babysitting) so I started the book: Eat Pretty by Jolene Hart. I really want to start eating “cleaner” and focus on what is going in my body…and beauty benefits from food, I’m hooked. This book educates you on the beauty benefits from fruits, vegetables, and herbs- along with a healthy lifestyle. I may not be able to follow the book with the exact things she recommends changing or adding but I can try! SO-trying to drink my coffee and finish up the last few pages of the book this morning, I realized all this knowledge needs to be shared along with the summer beauty basket Hart recommends. She details each item with the benefits, but I will just do the list, buy the book for the benefits and more!

Summer Beauty Basket:

Apricots, Blueberries, Cantaloupe, Celery, Cherries, Collard Greens, Cucumber, Okra, Papaya, Peach, Pepper, Pineapple, Plum, Rasberries, Tomato, Watermelon, and Zucchini

With all my new knowledge, I had some friends over for lunch and tried to implement a few of the summer beauty basket items into the meal, and ended up making one amazingly refreshing summer lemonade.

Here is the Lemonade recipe!

Lemonade ( fresh lemons and sugar) or Simply Lemonade

mint chopped finely, blended with- 6 strawberries, 4 pineapple slices, 1 orange.

Pour half a can of soda water into mix before serving.

That’s Marla Tip: Add orange and/or lemon slices into ice cube trays to serve in the glasses to make your guests feel extra special.
